Tide And Current

Tide And Current is the name of writer Alan Haig-Brown’s fine blog that I just discovered while doing some intensive research for a future post about the Inside Passage. And in particular, Seymour Narrrows, the infamous tidal rapids with currents that can exceed 15 knots  (15+ knots: that’s not a typo) in British Columbia’s Discovery Passage, the narrow and challenging waterway connecting the Strait of Georgia and Johnstone Strait between Vancouver Island and the mainland. B.C.-native Brown has been writing for years in Professional Mariner Magazine and he is also an accomplished photographer. He invites those who want to share their sea stories to do so and also seeks input from those who want to share their navigational knowledge and expertise of the Pacific Northwest. It’s been added to our Blogroll as well, so have at it…..
