Behold the simple but elegant 3-part headline in all its glory! Someone that considers themself to be a real tugboat deckhand, and doesn’t know how to do this (or doesn’t even know what it is), isn’t for real. Someone who calls themself a tankerman, and doesn’t know how to work with the deckhand to make this happen properly and efficiently, isn’t a real tankerman. Traditional deck seamanship and line-handling skills are still required onboard tugs, towboats and barges nationwide. Everything doesn’t have pins…..so learn the ropes (lines!), literally.
